Kris Krohn is an American artist who specializes in painting, sculpture, and mixed media artworks. His work often contains elements of both abstraction and realism, as well as a fascination with the patterns and colors found in the natural world.
Born in Portland, Oregon, he developed an interest in construction at an early age, creating miniature fantasy worlds. Later on he studied architecture and fine art. Krohn moved to New York City and worked in the galleries of Leo Castelli, Marian Goodman, and Sperone Westwater. He gained experience in traditional oil painting and drawing as a student at the Art Students League for two years.
